New Dimension Literacy Council

Literacy logoThe Ardmore Literacy Council was established in 1984 to help adults learn how to read using a one-on-one tutor-learner approach.

Their work is continued today by the New Dimension Literacy Council, which was established in 2008, and which works with people of all ages with both literacy and life skills, and focuses on group activities.

Literacy is defined as “using printed and written information to function in society, to achieve one’s goals, and develop one’s knowledge and potential.”
(2003 National Assessment of Adult Literacy)

“Today, in Oklahoma, more than 400,000 adults can't read. That number represents more than 20 percent of our state's adult population.”
(Read Y'all!)

The New Dimension Literacy Council wants to change that. If you'd like to help, we'd love to hear from you.
