In 2013, the Ardmore Public Library was awarded two literacy grants to promote literacy and expand access to literacy resources in Ardmore. Part of the initiative for these grants included creating new literacy and outreach services at the Ardmore Public Library.
Our program incorporates the use of new technology to teach various classes and work with other literacy programs in the area to expand the community’s access to literacy. The program also focuses on community outreach to bring more people into the library and to bring the library out into the community of Ardmore.
The library continues to place a strong emphasis on literacy and outreach services as a way to make a positive impact in Ardmore and the surrounding areas. Our ultimate hope is that by expanding access to literacy, we will be making people’s lives better.
